Day 4 - Monday May 22/17

(Posted Tuesday May 23, from Quetico Provincial Park)

Wow, what a day!! starting out driving in the clouds around the north shore of Superior between Keys Provincial Park and Terrace Bay!

Stopped in Terrace Bay for WIFI, and to see the ‘replica’ lighthouse (photo)

Stopped at Aguasaben Gorge just outside of Terrace Bay. Awesome power of the water funnelling through a narrow gorge! Discovered that there is also a hydro electric power generating plant there. (photo)

Continued in the fog/mist/rain/clouds through to Nipigon. Awesome new bridge (that apparently had design flaws) (photo)

Stopped at a scenic lookout just before Nipigon to heat up chili for lunch.

Thanks again to Gas Buddy, we got gas at a gas bar on the Lake Helen Reserve of the Red Rock Band for 15 cents per litre cheaper than on the highway!

What a day for wildlife and other creatures: we saw snowshoe hares, white-tailed dear, a black bear, a sandhill crane and a silver fox;  (photo)

We also got a tour of an organic farm at Pass Lake on the Sleeping Giant peninsula. The Sleepy G Farm is owned by friends of Nancy's son Jamie. We got to see the greenhouse, On Brendan and Marcelle's farm we saw shaggy highland cattle and shorthorn cattle, a pair of oxen, chickens and a golden retriever, as well as had a friendly visit. Oh yes, we were given a dozen eggs to boot.

Camping tonight in Sleeping Giant Provincial Park.

Will have to post this tomorrow as no cell service here.
